November 5-11: The entire lab will be at the annual Wildlife Society conference in Spokane, WA. Please check out Ellery Lassiter's presentation about spotted turtle activity patterns as well as the poster's from Mike's research on spotted skunk habitat associations, Emily's research on the wildlife diversity in suburban yards, and Leah's research on mesopredator communities along an urban to rural gradient.
October 11: Great job by John Veon at the Mississippi Alluvial Valley Joint Venture conference presenting our research about how mallards are increasing in body size over time based on 40 years of data.
September 2022: Congratulations to Ellery on getting her first chapter accepted at Wildlife Research a month before her defense!
July 2022: Ken Wilson has been accepted into the lab and will begin in Fall 2022 studying the impacts of wild hogs on songbirds. Welcome aboard Ken!

Spring 2022: Leah has been awarded the Harry and Jo Leggett Fellowship at the University of Arkansas. Congratulations Leah!
March 2022: Mike and Ellery both gave excellent presentations at the Wildlife Society conference at Lake DeGray State Park. Ellery wins the best student presentation award again! Two years running, congratulations Ellery!
December 2021: Congratulations to Andrhea Massey and John Veon for successfully earning their MS degrees. A bittersweet moment to watch these excellent students move on to the next phase of their careers, although they will be missed!
March 2020: Ellery was awarded the best student presentation at the Arkansas Chapter of the Wildlife Society annual meeting. Congratulations Ellery! Well deserved!
Winter 2019: John Veon was awarded the Harry and Jo Leggett Fellowship. This fellowship is awarded annually to a student whose research aligns with the priorities and values of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission. Congratulations John! Excellent news for a student that is dedicated to conservating Arkansas's wildlife.
Ringed Salamanders are moving in Arkansas! The lab spent some time searching for these incredible critters Sept 24th and most of the lab was able to add the species to their life list! We found 38 in total as well as some Slimy Salamanders.
Sept 26th - congrats to Sasha on another paper from his dissertation published - check out "Captive-rearing duration may be more important than environmental enrichment for enhancing turtle head-starting success" in Global ecology and conservation!
